Collapsible Conveyor
Quality Metal Works Inc designed this conveying system as a solution to washing down the conveyor in the customer’s designated wash room. The elevation to reach the scales was higher than that of the washroom doors head clearance. Thinking outside of the box Quality Metal Works Inc designed a split frame inclined conveyor, where the upper inclined half of the conveyor could be rotated down using an electric actuator. Once in the decline position, the conveyor could be easily rolled by one employee to the washroom for cleaning. The project also included the design of a dual vibratory stand for feeding the scales. The vibratory stand frame was designed to locate and lock the conveyor into the correct running position upon returning from the washroom.
